Desiree Vick
LPC (OH)
Personal Profile
Hello. My name is Desiree and I have worked in the Developmental Disabilities field since 2014. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Ohio. I received my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Xavier University. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, including Person-Centered, CBT, trauma-informed approaches, play therapy, and expressive approaches. I enjoy utilizing play, art, music, therapeutic games, and sensory-based techniques. I believe it is so important to meet each individual where they are and adjust my approach based on the needs of the individual.
I have worked with individuals with disabilities since my practicum and internship in college, and knew from early on that I had a passion for helping this population feel safe, important, and heard. I have provided individual mental health therapy to children, adolescents, and adults with Dual Diagnoses (developmental and mental health diagnoses) and of varying cognitive, physical, and communicative abilities, including those with Autism. I have also worked with their teams, families, and staff to find ways to better support them and help advocate for their needs. I earned my Trauma certification from the Tristate Trauma Network. I am truly honored to be a safe space for my clients and to be able to help them work towards their goals.
My fiancé and I are high school sweethearts, and have a son who is the light of our lives. We are major Bengals fans. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, listening to music, and I like to consider myself a foodie. I look forward to getting to know you and support you on your mental health journey.
